I am currently working at the OU, developing outreach projects linked to OU/BBC broadcasts such as Rough Science. I am interested in finding out about people's experiences of running events and producing outreach materials - about what works, what doesn't, the audiences different activities attract, etc.
As part of this project we are looking to develop events and try out new ways of reaching our target audiences using new media, websites, DVDs, etc. I am also interested in how to use evaluation throughout projects. I would be interested to get in contact with anyone who has experience of any of these areas.
Before coming to the OU I worked at the Science Museum in London. During my time there I presented science shows for between 20 and 1,000 people and worked as part of the Visitor Programmes Team, organising, developing and presenting events for a wide range of audiences.

In addition to running a science outreach and public engagement project, I am also studying for the Open University's MSc in Science and Society. My interest in the area is very broad-ranging.
